San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan — Tertiary Education students from various programs of First City Providential College—Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Arts in Communication, and Bachelor of Science in Biology—came together for a meaningful River Clean-Up and Tree Planting activity in Paradise III. Joining them was FCPC’s exchange student from Vietnam, Mai, who actively participated in the environmental advocacy initiative.
The activity was led by the Head of the Office of Student Affairs, Mrs. Teodora A. Santelices, along with Ms. Marievic Delfino from the Center for Local and International Linkages, Mr. Ianne Madrid from the Marketing Department, and Ms. Mary Joie Dizon from the Basic Education Department. Their collaborative presence underscored FCPC’s commitment to cultivating environmental responsibility across all sectors of the institution.
Students cleaned the riverbanks, removed accumulated waste, and planted trees to promote ecological restoration and long-term environmental health. As part of the sustainability measures, signages reminding the community to keep the river clean and avoid leaving trash were installed. The installation was made possible through the dedicated assistance of FCPC maintenance staff Sir Jerry and Sir Danny, whose support ensured the safe and proper placement of the signages.
This initiative was carried out in close collaboration with Barangay Chairman Gloria D. Cardona, whose leadership and support enhanced community engagement and cooperation throughout the activity.
FCPC emphasized that this project strengthens its ongoing sustainability and community extension efforts, reflecting the institution’s commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious students and fostering a culture of stewardship, collaboration, and social responsibility.
